just an FYI, some older military members take using the flag emblem on blankets and in clothing to be bad. Semper Fi is the spelling you were looking for. Other phrases might include. "Once a Marine, always a Marine." "No man left behind." "The Few, The Proud, The Marines." Good Luck with your project.

I do too. That would be my choice. Course I would have to change it to Navy. Even on a Naval Base, Marines were very highly though of.

Many Marine units have their own sayings! My grandsons was "Get Some", maybe you could google his unit if you know what it is. I am confused by his choice of gray camouflage. Generally, Marine have forest or desert camo.

This is the military quilt I made. I used my old uniforms for the ACU(cammo) patter fabric as a way to show some pride for my service. I thought about adding some name tapes, badges, and patches on there, but I thougt it would look not right to me. I'm really happy with how it turned out. First quilt I ever made and it's what got me started on this journey!

I made a similar one. No camo fabric used, but made 9-patch blocks with black, red and golden yellow. My hubby loved his. OORah
