    No, this is not true. My 9400 Janome has the serpentine stitch. I know the Janome 8200 and 8900 have the stitch. Some of the older Janomes do not have it but you could program it in. It is possible that the 9000 does not have it. I use this stitch a lot in quilting.

    I have a Juki, a Brother, and a Singer, and that stitch is on all three.
