Spiral flower design??

.......................................I think it is ok to have different sizes of the flowers but my question is how do I keep most of the design bigger..I seem to just keep make them smaller without even realizing that I am doing that.. Also do I have to fill in every space on the top or can I leave small areas that have nothing in it?
Varying the size of the flowers is what makes this an interesting pattern. As to your question about quilting in all areas.....yes! This type of motif fills in all spaces. It will look "unfinished", at this point, leaving spaces. The same motif could be used by quilting it more "open" on a different project. :-).
I think what you have done so far is lovely and I am thinking about using this motif on a quilt I am ready to quilt. I just had not decided what to quilt on it yet.
