One of the easiest things (other than hummus) is making them into snacks! Pretty much rinse them (some people use the liquid for other things), season them, and bake them.

I love to put them in my green salads and pasta salads. Also, you can make hummus with them too as I see someone has already suggested.

Cook a package of yellow rice, add in cooked shredded chicken and a can of the beans for a one dish meal.

Wow..thanks all...never would have thought to add to a salad, or to soups. Sounds so simple...doing a palm plant to the head. Answers the "what am I supposed to do with these?" question. Guess it's time to let DH off the hook!!

I made a sandwich filling - mashed chickpeas, celery, onion (optional), salad dressing and lemon juice. It was very good. I would eat it on lettuce leaves, but the person I made it for used bread.

My Mom used to make Pastafagoli with lentils but every now and then she'd use garbanzos. So good!!!!
I especially loved it because I don't like lentils. On Fridays we couldn't eat meat so she made some nice vegetarian dishes.

I drain them, roll them around in a little olive oil, then some chili spices and bake them on a flat sheet pan until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Makes a great snack!

Also, Put a can of beans in a pot, add a little oil, some Indian curry spices, chopped onions and a few handfuls of spinach, cook until wilted, then add a can of coconut milk and a half teaspoon of concentrated, veggie broth. Serve over rice, with some naan on the side. Yum!

Definitely as a salad protein add-in.
Even better (to me!)when some feta cheese is added to the mix!

Tropit, you beat me to it, with the roasted snackers! yummmmmmm!
Nice as a snack-treat. I also like them added to salads.

Chick Pea soup .... sounded ghastly when I was first told about it.
Then I made it ........ winner! winner!

AnnieDeb ..... Let's just hope that your DH enjoys them too!

Don't throw the water away from the chick peas, I was just reading how good it was for you. You can put it in soups and use the water in making meatloaf and bunch of other great tasting things. I don't remember the name of the article, but you can look up on the internet. It was either in 'eat this, not that' or cooking light.
As for using the beans: Hummus, soups, salads and with pasta. They have a lot of protein in them.

The chick pea water is called Aquafaba and it can be used in different ways, among which is substituting for egg whites for vegan cooks.
