Love the cozies! I've been meaning to make some, just haven't yet (although I have all the supplies). I think I'll make some as soon as I finish my current project! Yours is so pretty!

I put mine in the microwave but not for long and haven't had a problem yet. Fingers crossed.

They are so easy to make! I have used a standard pattern and cut them out as well as used the Blue Wren Die with my Accuquilt. I have made dozens of them. They are a big hit for shower prizes, Holiday gifts and so many other special days. We use them at home all the time. They are also great to use with Ice Cream.

I made a bunch of them to sell at craft fairs a few years ago. I did sell about half of what I had made, and the rest are still in a storage tub upstairs. I need to get a few out to use myself. It's fun to combine fabrics to make them different on each side.

I would never dare to microwave them.

I have made lots of them and they are good sellers at my shows.

Thanks for the great idea of using orphan blocks to jazz up the cozies. I went for super simple and used pre-cut 10" squares to get me started. I won a stack of the layer cake squares (10") at a guild meeting. If you want to save time, these precuts are perfect for the job.

Also a great idea…I always end up with a couple of layer cake squares left over from a quilt project.

I microwave for 30 seconds at a time to reheat, and I've never started a fire! I know it is all cotton. I made a pair that complement each other, and the other photo shows the spiral quilting in the bottom of one cozie, which added stability. I found that my round casserole dish also fits!

I first saw how to make the bowl cozy here on this board, I think about 2009? It was first called Bowl Potholder. No one in my quilt group or guild had ever seen one before. The first instructions were very basic. I made steps and added pictures so I could have instructions to pass out.
