If you are building stash then the fat quarters are a more usable size. I only by the precuts when I am sure what I will do with them.

I stopped buying smaller pieces because I found I had a load of different fabrics, but not much of any one thing. I have started buying just 2 yard pieces. I bet the pre-cut groups are great for someone who wants to get straight to the sewing.....

When you ladies and gentlemen buy yardage for your stash how much do you buy of each piece?

I would like to build a stash but I'm notorious for buying fabric with no plan and then I never have enough for a project.

I have found that I have very little solid colors, so now I try to get them when I find a sale. 1/2 yard at least

Buy what you can afford on the yardage. I buy at least a yard, more if I really "like" it :lol:

Unless a pattern that you have already picked out calls for the precuts you are better off with yardage , and even then you can make your own, take the yardage and cut it down :lol:

I really like layer cakes and jelly rolls. I am beginning to buy packages of pre cuts more and then buying yardage as blenders to them. I like how all the fabric in one design line is all included in the pre cuts.

I do like to buy the little charm packs, its so fun to get alot of varity for notso much money!

I buy a yard if I like it. If I love it I buy at least two yards. And if it calls to me There a four or five yards. May even what is left on the bolt.
