Toni, you will love paper-piecing. I started doing it because i was having trouble quilting anything but squares. It is so easy, and makes your quilts come out very accurate in size. I make up a pattern on graff paper, then go and get photo copies. I have no problem tearing the paper off. I finger press as i'm going along, and when the square is completed, i iron it, but, i iron it with no steam, steam will make the ink run, but with no steam there is no problem.

You have to do a search on the above programs, and when you see them-how small-and how many-and the difficult stuff in them...then you have that aha moment:)). It is thinking backwards to paper piece somewhat like looking in the mirror and fixing your hair:0). (BUt, don't base it on that-never worked good for my hair):0)And, remember 1 thing...I use reg computer paper to print my patterns then make my stitch length less so at the end of the story it makes ripping paper easier. Sometimes, depending on the block, you still have to join 'parts' or 'rows' of the paper together and there attention is needed to keep points, rows, etc on target. You will have fun playing with this. Just do a word search out in the cyber world...much info out there. Keep us posted! Skeat
I have always told my students it's learning to sew "upside down and backwards". And you know... my few male students have always excelled at this.

I love to paper piece. I am making a falling leaves quilt right now and one of the leaf pattern is paper pieced. I am using muslin insteade of paper so I do not have to deal with pealing it off. This works well for me. I draw the sewing lines on the muslin and procede just like you do with paper. Good luck
