Hello and welcome from Germany. When I started quilting, I took a class. After I got an idea of the whole quilting thingy, it was much easier for me to learn/understand things from books or the internet. Most of all: Enjoy the process, it is meant to be fun!

Hello from Tennessee. I started by getting scrap materials from other quilters in my family. Then practicing on cheap materials from stores. I then went to better material. Our local county library has tons of books with quilting lessons, patterns and such. Hope this helps.

    Welcome aboard! :-)

Seek out other quilters in your area. The only thing we like better than quilting is helping somebody else learn. :-)

Google for quilt guilds in Georgia and for quilt shops. You might also see if there's a community bulletin board at your library where you can post a request.

i'm down in southeast georgia. we also have members in other parts of the state.

if you live in my area i'd love to help! :-)

    Hey there,

Go to your local quilt shop and sign up for a basic beginner class..You will learn great fundamentals, learn how to use a rotary cutter, ect...The internet, libraries, magazines are also a wonderful way to learn and can enhance everything you learn in a basic class....Enjoy!
