I am asking for new kitchen towels and dishrags! I was folding my old ones and realized what bad shape they were in. Why do I keep using old holey stained kitchen linens? LOL.

All I really want cannot be purchased. And that is to have everyone together, "happily" and enjoy the season for the right reason. I opted for a "chinese" Christmas this year just so we could have more fun and not be stressed trying to figure out what to get everyone. I thought it would give the kids more money to spend on themselves and their families too.

Some of the best gifts cannot be bought with money.

Love your avatar. Is is a one block wonder quilt? Do you have a picture of the original fabric??
Yes it is and no I don't sadly! Someone told me an online supplier recently though, it's mentioned on the last page of the thread where I posted this "Grape Expectations" :-D

You know how you can think of things you want when it isn't your birthday/mother's day/Christmas/anniversary and then can't think of a bloomin' thing when it's time to give the gift?

So when I think of something, I ask for it and say "it's for my birthday or whatever. For my birthday this year, my son bought me a Singer Rocketeer and because it was a little pricey, it's a combination birthday/Christmas present so he's covered for the holiday season as well!

My list contains items like a spool of thread, a quilting magazine, needles, a fat quarter, a yard of a certain color/type of fabric and various other sewing items that I would like or need. There are items the smaller ones can afford based on their allowances as well gift ideas for my husband to select from. And, I try to keep the majority of the items on the list to be things that will not be a problem if I should duplicate gifts.

Here's another one that the "guys" like to buy: A small shop vac from your local hardware store. I love my 2.5 gal. one for sucking up paper piecing and chunks of stabilizer.

How about the set of micro-mini attachments that fit on the vacuum hose? Neat way to get lint out of our machines! Or spring-action scissors (available at every WalMart) for clipping rag quilts or whatever....
