LoL!! I was wondering that myself while cutting these out.
The squares would be good starters for some log cabin but, will probably just end up in one of the boxes/buckets/baskets with all the other scraps til I need them for something.
Thanks for all the kind words, this block really is a lot of fun even with the tediousness involved.

Save those little squares! Square them up to 2.5in, cut all your other measurements exactly in half, & make a mini version! It works, trust me! I did one & it came out great! Pic later!... Mine was with 5in squares to begin with, so this is the size I am referring to...

Did you use 3/4" for the sides of the square or did you go a bit smaller than that? I was thinking of trying maybe 1/2" instead to see about a less chunky blade. Anyone have tips or thoughts for this?

I don't remember, but a little smaller like that, I think. You still want pinwheel effect, so adjust accordingly...

Ya know, I just might end up doing that with the scraps. Thanks for the idea!
My hubby seen the mess in there this morning(I have 3 scrap piles on the table as I've been working on my Harry Potter quilt too) and says to me very sternly  "Good grief woman!! It looks like an episode of Hoarders in here, how do you get anything done?!?!" I just about fell on the floor laughing just looking at his face when he said it. Too funny!
