Yes the color combo is not pleasing to my eye. The quilt will have this over all pattern in the end.

Oh wow ... I personally would have NEVER picked those fabrics EVER but I must say that in the square you have completed they are simply breathtaking!! I cannot wait to see what the finished top looks like!!!

Just remember that this quilt does not have to live at your house and the people who will be receiving said quilt are going to fall madly in love with it :)

I think it's very pretty and will be wonderful when done. It's got to be hard to work on something you detest, but maybe it'll grow on you. Maybe tell yourself to reserve judgment until you see 4 blocks together, then 8, etc. It really is lovely.

It's not my taste either, but I'd make it if someone asked. Some days you just have to shake your head at other peoples tastes and let them have it.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely love it! I agree with the others, you just have to remember who you're making it for.

Well, to me it is gorgeous, but to you, not so much. I would just focus on how much she will love it and appreciate it. It's like making a recipe for someone but you know you won't eat it. will look forward to seeing the finished product.

Your sister will LOVE it...I'm sure she's excited for you to finish it. I think it will grow on you as you work on it, knowing that it's for your sister.

Plus, I really don't like to judge a quilt based on one square...sometimes when the entire quilt top has been finished, my perspective on it changes.

It really is a pretty combo. And when I hate something I am working on I work REAL SLOW so I know how you feel. You just have to remind yourself its not for you and they LOVE it.
