Betty, if you are talking about sewing the strips together to make your quilt sections we need to discuss that in the message thread titled "sewing one section".
I am going to post a reply to you over there. That way every one will benefit from your questions and my answer and will be able to see they pictures for better comprehension.

Grandmother23, Your light blues will be in the very center of your circles, and gradually get darker in the outer edges. Your lightest blue will then be the in the outer part of the diamonds gradually get darker in the center.

I am sewing from left to right almost have section one put together I have copy of sewing one section but its different than the way I'm doing it because of my error in seam with it takes foreverit seems to line up the seams. Oh well, its my own fault just got to rambunchious.

I'm glad you almost have one section put together.
It does take a long time to sew the section together because there are so many seams to match. You not only have to worry about getting the seams nestled in close together, you have to make sure the seams don't get flipped the wrong direction.

A lot of times when I'm sewing the strips together and the one that is on the bottom has the seams press up, they will get caught when passing across where the slide out window is for putting in the bobbin, or else when the seam gets to the presser foot, it pushed the seam down instead of letting go up if it needs to. If you have a seam ripper, you can place it on the seam before getting to the presser foot, so it will be going in the right direction.


Another problem when sewing the strips together could be that the strips aren't cut at a 90 degrees angle to the seams in your piece, so the seams in the strip run up or down hill a bit instead of straight across.

My problem has been matching the seams because I changes machines mid stream. So check to make sure seams match across, if not I have to pull thread and re-sew. Oh well it keeps me out of trouble.
