Irish rose says eat what you want, don't deprive yourself, but only eat in moderation.Be sensible about it.

It took a while to figure out what combination of beans and and vegies worked. One recipe that helped a lot was for vegitarian chili which filled me up on smaller amounts than other bean recipes.
If your friend googles vegitarian recipes she may find some that are helpful for weight loss. Takes some time, but worth it.

anyone here a vegetarian?
my girlfriend started with us..not on here though. and she said it is hard to loose weight because she over does the carbs. her doc said she has to loose 10 pounds (that will take 150 lbs of pressure off her hip) ..or she will end up with a hip replacement!
she is going to need more help than i can give her. she did join the "my fitness pal",yesterday.

look for her, to give her support, ideas if you are on that program. her board name is "Pelirroja2" thanks!
Oh,those sound good.We love beans of all kinds.

Seitan or wheat gluten is pretty good if you don't have a gluten intolerance and have time to make it.

I love tofu.I use to live up on the Washinton Border by Wall Walla, and in college Place a town next to it,was a 7th day adventist town. And their way of eating is really healthy. And with tofu, you can use it for meat,in salads, fry it,etc. There is a lot you can do with tofu.It obsorbs the flavors of what you have it in,I love it.Another great idea.

Wow,I was just wondering if it was poisen oak.I looked it up on the net and did see we can catch it from a dog if it was in a patch.I didn't know that either. But those blisters they showed weren't pretty. You may have to wear a nice pant suit instead of your pretty dresses.Well,I know you'll be pretty no matter what you wear.I wish you the best and lets hope they are better by then.Still have a few days and a lot can happen, they can be a lot better by then.

Hi all congrats to the winner and I'll be sending her a request for her add.
So many good messages today. I would like to have the bean recipe elm.
Had a good day today. Got another 2.5 mi walk in and ate a proper amount and got my water in. It's still very hot and humid so need to be careful.
It has taken me 2 years to take of 35 pounds and I still need to lose another 22 pounds, it has been a snail pace but it has worked. Just need to be mindful each day and stay focused . That is the hardest part staying focused. I am doing the food log this month to see if that will help me stay on track I only weigh once a week so I won't get all upset about the up and down that our body naturally does. I find that if I make a pot of cabbage soup and keep it on hand I always have a healthy meal in a pinch. I also keep dried cherries on hand when I feel like if I don't have something sweet I will eat everything in sight. Last month one of us suggested the cinnamon bear cookies for a snack in the evening when you crave something sweet. They are low in calories and satisfying.
Have a good evening and talk to you all tomorrow.
Hugs
Gail
