I guess I don't know my dragons enough to get the coloring right. Then it just didn't seem to match the blue metallic I chose. My best choice was a dragon without using an applique or doing the applique without the dragon. Which would you choose? I'm sort of working both ways.

I'll definitely check those out. Go with whatever you think best. I just love that blue metallic and will love ANYTHING that you make. :) Besides, it will give you practice for future swaps.

Have you checked critters?? they had a wonderful pattern with a lot of applique dragons. I did a couple wall hangings for the twins when they were young -- the "same only different" www.critterpat.com -- the pattern is on the second page of patterns

Dragon? you were going to do a dragon? How awesome. I know what you mean about it being beyond scope. I have to do one (in greens) for a friend of mine and I was thinking of the same thing. Did you have a pattern? I'd love to see it.
