No one will laugh at your quilt. It is amazing. What a wonderful job and a great pattern too. We will be waiting to hear the outcome, but regardless, you have a quilt to be proud of!!!!

Wow Rachel, what a beautiful quilt. I love how the reds pop against the white background. I love the swirl quilting you did on it, it looks so professional. Is commissioned quilting in your future???I'm really glad you're entering it into a show and you're absolutely right that you have to start somewhere!

I have been to shows where they offer a lecture on comments from judges (did this at the Vermont Quilt Festival). You learn so much by attending these lectures! I didn't go to VQF this year, but last year I remember one judge saying how important it is to use a lint brush before submitting your quilt. She said people spend so much time creating their quilts and don't spend just a few minutes getting the pet hair, etc off it for show. That really stuck out at me. The other big comment they always make is to be sure your binding is full from the top, back and batting. If there is space there, they will knock you for that. I'm not saying you're guilty of either, just wanted to share two comments where I could see the importance of them in the eyes of the judges.

I remember the Assorted Gem cookies, they're yummy! And I can just picture making a game out of it because of the variety in the bag. I'm glad you named this quilt out of a childhood memory. I bet it brings a smile to your face and makes you think of your uncle often. :)
