My husband is going for the pre-op physical next week and then schedule the test. This will be his third. His brother passed away from colon cancer at age 39 after a long battle so he does the test. This was a good one but I don't think I will let him read it until after the test. He might find some humor in it then. Good one Ditter.

OMG I did have to laugh at how he talks about this. 99% of the population do the nasty drink prep for the test, but one can also live on a clear liquid diet for 3 days prior to and not have to drink that nasty stuff. My hubby said..all I have to do is feed him kraut and bean soup..and watch out world. lol

Oh Ditter, this one is so funny. But, I can add a humorous ending to this. I had my colonoscopy on my 50th birthday. Being my first such procedure, I followed the three day diet to the letter. Day of the test, I was so very nervous. I was afraid they would forget to medicate me, to make me go to sleep. Told the nurses and anyone else who would listen. So what happens to me.....?? Apparanetly there are people who Do Not Fall Asleep during these tests. I felt NO pain, but was wide awake and feeling kind of stoned. Yuppers, I was child of the 70's LOL. I watched the video screen of the procedure, asking questions, and I recall at one point I started humming the Beatles - Yellow submarine. The doctor wanted to know what I was saying, so I started singing it out loud to him. hahahaha He told me to be quiet, I was distracting him from the procedure. I told him, well put me to sleep then. And that is when I found out that not all of us sleep. Doctor swore he gave me meds so I would NOT recall any of the procedure. Boy was he wrong. I was able to recall everything he said to me for the entire hour or so. Next time, I will be sure to ask for double drugs/medicated Before I go to lab
