I have a kind of spread sheet that I try to keep up to date on it it has Name of Quit, Fabric, Blocks Cut, Blocks Sewn Together, Rows Together, Backing, Sandwiched, Quilted, Binding. At least this way I can kind of see what's left to do on each of them. Believe me, there are at least three pages of projects. Oh, I also put the date that each of the items is completed.....that's kind of scary to see how long some of the projects have been UFO's.

Extravagant - maybe - but I wanted a list in writing that I COULD SEEEEE so maybe - just maybe - it'll help me STOP accumulating more new projects and new fabric of any kind.
I don't know if it'll work - whatcha think?
Anyone else ever tried making a LIST to keep track of ALL the projects and collections they have *hidden away* in their HOUSE?
Any other suggestions for gettting things DONE!!!?????
Anyone ever BLOG about it?

I'm new to quilting. For my first two quilts, I did one at a time with nothing else (except a purse or two between).
The other day I went shopping for fabric for a baby quilt and saw penguin fabric that my DH would love. I bought that and others to make him a quilt too. So now I have two projects going.
Have I just opened a can of worms by having multiple projects? Should I have stuck with one project at a time?
I guess only time will tell.

After finishing a quilt, and cleaning the mess I always make, I look at my UFO boxes to see if I am ready to get back to one of them. I do keep a written list of projects I must have done by a date posted next to my sewing machine and adjust it as needed.I also have a SOME DAY I WILL MAKE list that I keep adding to.

I also spreadsheet my fabrics by color & projects so I can manage the stash. That way I can keep track of how much I have and a few other important facts. It has worked for me. Is it more work than most would want to do- sure but it helps me KNOW what is in my stash and I can get the info rather quickly. I also backed it up on a flashdrive.

When I buy fabric for a project I put it in a clear box and add the pattern. One project per box. They are sitting on my shelf. When done with the project the finished quilt top goes into the box along with the binding fabric to wait until it is quilted. It keeps everything clean and together.
