A while ago I posted about Singer 401G and 411G. I have not modified the machines to accept a leather belt. I'm wondering if you know anything about putting them on a treadle. The sewing machine shop guy wants to modify the balance wheel - he says it needs a heavy old one - they don't just fit on.

I have a Bernina that may be a good candidate for a treadle. It is a 530 with a broken cord acceptor part.
What did you do to adapt?

Nice setup. What are you using for a belt?

Thanks for sharing. I looked at some of your "non" quilt wood projects and your wood working studio the other day on the board. You are very talented. Thanks for sharing.

    John,

That is way cool!!!!! I love it! I see that you used the rubber tubing for the belt. I understand that works better with the plastic machine wheels. I like your cabinet and drawers with the green felt. You just gave me a tip on lining my drawers.

I agree that treadling is a wonderful way of slowing one down to enjoy the process.

Welcome! And thank you for posting you wonderful setup.

Beautiful cabinet. I've often wondered how many of our "modern" machines could be treadled.
