FD is out of this world. We are going to Seattle next week for the NW Garden Show and can't hit Portland but can anyone recommend some stores in Seattle? We are staying by Pike Place but will have a car. I'm specifically looking for Kaffe but, you know .... love it all.

There are four of us gals that make a trip to FD once a year. Also don't forget to check out The Powell Book Store. You can get great bargains on used quilt books. The store takes up a whole city block and you can take the train to downtown.

It is no surprise that my last two birthdays have involved a trip to Fabric Depot to play.
LOL Sounds like my advice when I take a group to a quilt show!

Joann's can't hold a candle or even a match to this place. Never saw anything like it even in California!
What is their web address ??

Fabric Depot's web address is www.fabricdepot.com - or you can just google "fabric depot".

Everyone should sign up to be on the mailing list, whether you live close or not. Every month they send out a flyer that shows what's on sale and when, and there are four 40% coupons, one for each week. You can use these coupons online. They're not like Joann's, either - if you want something that's already 20% off, but you want to use your coupon to get a better price, they'll charge you the full price and take the 40% off of that.

OH YES.....My first reaction was that it was heaven, or what heaven should look like.....I spent hours there and in the end I need three carts, two yard cart, one yard cart and every thing else cart. It took three of us to get it to the parking lot and it filled my car's back seat....Thank God for credit cards! Every quilter should go at least once. Just for the record Seattle has some great quilt shops and it has a wonderful remnant warehouse store but Fabric Depot is in a class by it's self. If you are flying in to Portland it is just a hop skip and a jump from the airport and way before the turn off to the coast....just in case you were planning on coming to Oregon.

Yes, and I would like to pitch a tent there. My DS just sent me a gift card for my birthday! Yippee. What an adventure.

I'll have to check them out. I'm always looking for bargains and Joann's doesn't have them! Neither does Walmart. Those are my two choices around here. Plus, of course, the quilt shops. I don't have a lot of money to spend on my passion, but maybe I can find a thing or two. Thanks for the lead.
