Over the years I have made quilts, doll clolthes, aprons, and other items for people because they asked me to. Neither payment for materials nor thanks in response. My husband has done the same because he is handy with woodworking and other things. He spent hour upon hour making a little dog house for a neighbor child, a toy box for her talent show, and wooden speaker holders for her brother's car. They never even said thank you. I blame the parents for not teaching their children better manners, but then again many of the people were adults. I have learned not to say yes so readily to doing things for others. I guess you could say I have become jaded. Sad because I like to give to others. And I know a lot of you are going to say the joy is in the giving, but if you have not been in my shoes you don't know how I feel.
