Especially with prices what they are now, you need to check every transaction from wherever you shop. This type of error happens all the time, not just at fabric shops. The way they handled this mishap makes for good relations.
I especially check the receipt from the grocery store. Some of the errors....jello 3 for .99--charged 9.99, bagels bought 2 was charged for 22. Just an example.

This happened to me this weedend at a quilt show. I watched as they rang up my $11.89 charm pack and then didn't look as I signed the CR card receipt. The next day I noticed on my account they had added an extra 1 to the beginning. I called and had both receipts so they are taking care of it. Normal human error. I wonder how many I have missed over the years.

I've always enjoyed my shopping experiences with Fabric Depot, although I do wish they'd upgrade the registers and credit card systems! I've been to some places where the clerk has to punch in the last 4 of the card after swiping it, I've never been able to figure out why, some security thing probably. Glad your experience turned out to be easily fixed.

This type of thing may be an honest error, but it's definitely what's being warned about now days. Here in California, they found that a local grocery store was adding dollars now and then to charges ... because most of us don't compare our receipts to our credit card statements. It's called Skimming.
