Very cute! Is batting used? Do we need to add some curly 'fur quilting' to stablize it?

This puppy was made with fleece on top, some old cotton on the back and cotton batting. He's made with the birthing method. The appliqué and body stitching are done after assembly so it quilts the blankie. I'd love to see someone with mad quilting skills make him in the traditional way and see how he comes out! Me, I'm just going to use fake fur on the next one to make him furry!
