    Some, but not all, states have an official quilt block. A couple of years ago I found this site which contains lists of the states with their official symbols. for example - Alabama doesn't have an official state block, but it does have an official quilt. If you go to cultural symbols, you can get more information. Or click on the name of each state to review the symbols/items that have been voted as the "official" item for the state.

    If anyone is interested, Faye Labanaris did a beautiful book on State Flowers for the Applique lover, called State Flowers to Applique.I think.Can not put my hands on it at the moment.

    I came across this book on eBay UK just this morning! I looked on Amazon US and it's out of print, but there were other State quilting books listed underneath. Good luck!

    Hancocks fabrics carries Aunt Martha embroidery patterns od flowers or birds of each state.
