Your DH is a wise man and a keeper, I wish my DH were as observant about my fabric collection. A friend of mine told me that she believes some fabrics need to age before being used - like fine wine. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I know what you mean about fabrics going out to play when you want them to come in to play, but I have found that by periodically re-organizing my stash of fabrics by their use - holidays, Christmas, children's, color, etc., etc. I find that wayward piece of fabric I'd been looking for, as I tend to pull from all sections of my stash, but never quite seem to put them back where they belong - hence they become missing in action.

MargeD I like your fine wine theory. I'm going to start using it.

The only problem with finding it "later" is that you will inevitably be gobbled up by something else at the time you find what you were looking for "earlier."

I can sew relate to the title. MY DH just shakes his head when he walks by my sewing cave and usually closes the door.

A sweet and very smart husband you have there, could I send mine to him for training? I would be so much easier! I Recently gave my husband a lesson he won't forget! When I commented that I didn't have the "right blue" he snarked "Why do you need more fabric? just use what you have". I had to snap back "Why do you have 23 coffee cans full of nails? " then I gave him a color lesson, dark, light, medium, shade, tint, warm, cool, neutral, complimentary, contrasting, matching, then I showed him a dozen "whites" that aren't just white. I stopped when his mouth dropped open in horror when I said "and then there is black"! That'll teach him to question a fabric arteest! LOL

Cecelia: I bet it'll be a colder day in the state of Jefferson before he comments on your fabric again.
