I only have a Bernina 820 and a Featherweight. My husband keeps finding more on the Goodwill site or Craigs List but I don't have room to start hoarding machines. Some are such good deals that it's tempting though!

I wouldn't even be in a conversation with a person who thinks how many machines I have is their business. Not even family members. DH knows I have more then one but he could not tell you how many. He never goes in my sewing room until the ceiling light needs a new bulb. LOL.

I have 3 Singer FW, a old ALFA A model (similar to singer 15) w/ cabintet, a 30 years old SIGMA Lady 500 and a PFAFF Ambition Essential.

I use mainly the PFAFF and a 1946 Featherweight but all are in mint condition.

...a few more than I really NEED......only one is worth anything, although had a garage sale recently, put it out with sign....not one interested...must not be FW country...will try Craig's list maybe...really don't want it. Others will probably go to goodwill..when the one I really use dies, I will then buy another......one at a time, like my car!

I have 6 and use 5 of them. I piece on the Brother 1500, quilt on Janome8900, sew clothing with Baby Lock serger, embroider with Bernina, and grandkids sew on Singer featherweight. My White mechanical is in the garage. I'm going to give it to granddaughter. I feel blessed.

Just ask your dad if it's weird that a carpenter would have more than one or two hammers, or a mechanic would have more than one or two wrenches! Put it that way and it makes more sense to menfolk. LOL

I have six, technically, but two are completely broken and just used for decoration so really I only count four of them. I have my very first sewing machine that I bought brand new as a teenager (90's Kenmore) - that one has been semi-retired but every once in awhile I dig it out and run a few stitches. Then I have my "big" quilting machine (Janome 6600) that gets the most use, a smaller portable/free-arm machine (Janome 3160) that I use for classes and small projects, and lastly my embroidery-only machine (Brother PE770). I love and use them all!

I probably have close to 50. I haven't counted lately. I have 3 that date before 1900 so I don't use them. I actually only use about 5 of them on a regular basis and interchange and try to use most of them at least every 3 months or so. I am just addicted to sewing machine collecting.

not a collector but have 3 machines -- I piece on a 1978 Kenmore 158, quilt on 1932 Singer 15-91, and wind bobbins on a Singer 9005 -- that is working at the moment!!
