I tried and tried to remove some stains from some baby clothes to pass along to our new granddaughter without success. Then I laid eyes on a bar of fels naptha soap down by the washing machine and decided to try that. I just rubbed the bar firmly onto the damp stain and chucked it into the next washload, and dang if it didn't take the stain out. Sometimes everything old is new again.

Is there any way you can put an appliqued object over the stain and a label on the back covering the stain? Just a thought.

Maybe you could try awesome...from the dollar stores. That seems to help nasty stains. I used it with the oxyclean spray. Did not hurt the fabric. Works on blood too. Good luck!

Oh? How do you know this? Did you communicate with her in some way? I can only go by what she wrote on her blog and she states right in the blog she soaked it in a 50/50 solution of peroxide and water. Now 50/50 may have been way to strong and caused the quilt to deteriorate but why take a chance?

I always used Biz. Then when the Oxy stuff came out, I tried that. I'm back to Biz.
Put a tablespoon or two of Biz in a quart or two of warm water. Mix it up and put just the section that has the stain on it into the solution. Let it sit for a few hours to over night. I'll bet your stain is gone. Then wash the whole thing.
I'll bet the Fels Naptha soap as stated by Cheshirecatquilter (no. 21), above would do it, too.

Google Retro Clean. It sounds pricey, but the solution can be used on more than one item. I had two quilts that, unknown to me, had cat urine on them from one of my kitties. By the time I got the quilt out to use, it had been packed away for over 10 years. I used Retro Clean and it got all of the stain out...plus it took out tea and coffee stains on a linen hand embroidered cutwork tablecloth my grandmother made for me. THOSE stains had been in for almost 40 years, and the linen had been treated, washed...nothing took out the stains. I don't work for Retro Clean or have an interest in it other than when I have a precious item that needs help!
