And just got word that AQS will no longer publish books after September. They are going to continue as a membership organization with six shows/year, American Quilter magazine and their online store.

I think it's just a difference in how quilters are getting their info/patterns. Unless a company can adapt to the internet and offer content online that's meaningful, they are going to have a tough time going forward.

That's bad news--my subscription runs until 2017. As magazines stop printing others pick up and finish the subscription. I hope another magazine does that. I didn't used to like QNL when I first started quilting, I think the quilts looked too hard to do. Also, they didn't used to put patterns in, now they do. Sorry to see them go--where did you see that information. I have my issue here, but I haven't had time to look at it yet.

    Sad news, indeed.

QN contacted its contributors to let them know first; I expect they'll make an official announcement in the last issue. They'll be sending Quilting Arts magazine for the remainder of your subscription. I'm hoping there will be an opportunity to decline that and substitute another of their magazines, like McCall's Quilting. Time will tell.

I did not know this happened. I have enjoyed Quilter's Newsletter magazine for years and am a subscriber. This is sad news.

So sad to see a long-time giant fall into the abyss. Did they give a reason?

I've been subscribing since the 1980's. Was a shame that its breadth of articles didn't appeal to more of us.

I think they will be selling all issues ever printed on a USB drive. Many magazines are doing that now.

I renewed my subscription just a few months ago. Wonder if we will get refunds?
