I think "open" edges would also be interesting - it takes the eye in a different direction than with "closed" circles -

Either way - It would take an even number of rows to get the outside "the same" all the way around.

I've gotten a lot of neat border ideas looking at the free patterns from equilter.com. They have a lot of panel designs with pieced borders, so they could be adapted for your quilt.

You have to read her post more carefully.

I am a fan of piano keys; which would look great here after the "float" border.

I also thought of another layout: putting the new pieces on the left and top, which would create complete circles. I don't know if you would like that. It's your quilt.

And I didn't read till the end, Bear. I think I came to an Ad and thought that was the end. So others had the same idea. That's great.

You are right - I did not read it that carefully - I just looked at the picture - - -

Check out the flying geese border Donna Jordan used on her log cabin quilt. I can't wait to make one with it!

I agree, this looks to be a borderless quilt if I ever saw one. Unless you used a solid strip to frame it, in my opinion, anything more would be gilding the lily.

I am in the "no border" camp! That's a beauty!

Personally I like it the way it is if you want it bigger just add more blocks and maybe a colored binding. Also I would like the pattern can you tell me what it is and maybe where to get it. Many thanks
