Computer works for me. An hour and usually I'm ready for sleep. I love to surf for anything quilting related.

Sorry to hear you are in pain Karen. Hopefully you can find something to help and put you to sleep.

Have to check out that tea!

I am up every morning from 3:00 on. I first make my coffee and go on the computer. Once I am fully awake I usually do some quilting, or or other type of craft.

Once daylight hits, in nice weather, I like to go outside with my coffee and putter around.

I basically just try and do anything that is quiet as I must be the noisiest person on earth. The more quiet I try and be the louder I am.

Have a great day everyone!  :)

Craftybear, not being able to sleep and in pain is hard to bare. I am so sorry that you are going thru this. When I can't sleep I use one Tylenol PM. On the occassion that I have sciatica pain..I use a heating pad. Have you tried a mild sleeping aid..then add some advil? I have tried Advil PM..but..this will make you laugh. I woke up in the middle of the night and was so itchy..never used it after that.
A few months ago we invested a little money in a 3 inche memory foam mattress topper. I have to say..that was the best thing we ever did. Maybe this would help you sleep. It is rare that I don't sleep well. The pad has made mornings less stiff.
Hugs to you and praying that you find an answer to help you sleep.
    Blessings

Hi Craftybear, so sorry to hear that you can't sleep because of pain. My only thought is deep breathing exercises. That helps me when I am nervous, but that's not the same as pain.
I hope you sleep tonight!! :)

Crafty, I have spinal stenosis in my lower back that is closing on the sciatic nerve, so I understand your pain. Mu feet and lower legs are numb,,no fun! My warning to you, IF you are feeling numbness in your legs, don"t wait too long for surgery. I wasted a year having steroid shots, pain pills, and pain patches, only to have the problem get worse. Then when I did have surgery, it helped some of the pain, but the numbness remains. Was told I waited too long for the damage to be undone. The specialist I was seeing was said to be one of the best in the US, but he never told me my problem was going to continue without surgery, or I would have not wasted that whole year. So, I deal with it! I did have a treatment by a chiropractor that gave me some relief for a short time(as day), have you tried that? Some doctors frown on chir. , but my PC doesn"T, and I saw one for a year for a pinched nerve in my neck, and it does work wonders.

I sometimes have trouble sleeping, I try to take some advil or aleve and then read for a while until I get sleepy. Sometimes I go ahead and take something before I go to bed, it seems to keep the pain at a minimum.

Also the Bendryl is a great idea. That is what my doctor recommends instead of a sleeping pill.

Friendship tea is what we use to make at Christmas and call Russian Tea. I had forgot about the recipe. We use to use Tang for the orange drink. I think I may have to make some again.

Oh my, I'm not the only one allergic to Alleve! Sorry to hear about your reaction. Three years ago my doctor recommended Alleve to help with an injured ankle. Took it for two weeks, didn't notice anything until I woke up one morning with a whole body rash!! _ :( _ which proceeded to get worse, even after stopping the pills. I was out of work for two weeks because the skin on my hands was like leather and I couldn't bend my fingers. After everything peeled off, like a bad sunburn, I was okay.

I'm usually good at spotting an allergy to something but this really snuck up on me. Turns out I'm allergic to any of the naproxyn sodium type drugs. Who knew?! Now, I joke with my boyfriend, who practically lives on the stuff, that I won't kiss him if he's just taken a pill! _  _
