I am not apposed to different blocks. But not sure I can do all of mine in different fabrics. Or do you mean differnt block patterns.
I am flexible to a point. Applique is not what I will be doing because I have no experience with it. Would want what I send to look good enough to place in a quilt.

In other swaps I've been in, we've made the same block for all 12 but could use different fabrics. That has worked really well for those of us who are using stash fabrics. I am trying to be able to do as much as I can without buying new fabric.
