My granddaughters tell everyone that I can make anything.
I love the confidence they in me. Yes, I will try most anything. As they are getting older they are willing to give a try to a project. Proud of them.

out of the mouths of babes as the saying goes. These requests are unspoiled by all the commercialization out there. Love it. No GC yet, sons aren't married but am so looking forward to making baby quilts when the time comes, not in any hurry though.

One of my grandaughters asked me to make a king sized quilt for her for a wedding gift, so I did. Didn't matter what colors so I chose the pattern. Our DD got a request from her 18 year old grandson for a quilt in black red and white so she made it and gave it to him at his graduation from high school. Growing up with quilts made by mother and grandmother has given the young people in our family an appreciation for items made with love. None have ever been refused when given as gifts.

I'd made my wonderful granddaughter a quilt with many "hot" colors in it - her favorites being hot pink, vivid orange, and cool lime - it turned out beautiful in spite of blinding me - lol
Next my grandson came to me - "Grandma? Could you make me a quilt with racecars on it?" So, the next Christmas he got his race car quilt - in mostly reds, and I did the picket fence border with the colors of the flags in racing - (black and white checkered, green, red, yellow, white) and it turned out beautiful - he treasures it - he is also a High School Musical movie nut - (he's only 9) and my SIL had made a quilt with that fabric as a give away to the needy - and I spied it - and commented on it that my grandson would just love it! She allowed me to buy it from her for what she had in it - wow! She would not let me give her more - so he got that one also - and he about dropped when he got it - he threw it around himself and we cuddled the whole weekend with it.... it is not quite a twin size - but a large throw.
I've been showing and helping my 13 year old granddaughter to hand sew a table topper for her bedroom out of like fabric in her quilt - so then she can say she made something for her ensemble also.

What a cute kid. I like the post about how kids think we can do anything. My daughter loves when people comment on her outfits and she can say, "My mommy made it!" I think she just loves the looks on their faces!

Yes 3 of my ggk asked for quilts. The oldest one 11 ask if I could make her a quilt from a little blanket that she has had since she was born that she still sleeps with, it was really worn but I told her that I would, so when I got the blanket I renforced it with a soft backing and then made blocks all the way around it in her favorite color PINK, then the other ggd age 7 asked for a tinkerbell on which I am almost finished with, the ggs age 8 asked for dinasors, which I am still working on, will try and post pictures when I am finished. Haven't ever posted pics before but will try. I just love it when they ask me to make them something. Makes my heart feel great.

When I made my grandson's 10th birthday quilt (see my avatar) my other grandson was so upset that he had to wait almost 2 years for his 10th birthday quilt. He asked if he can have his early for his 9th which is in Feb. Well, I don't think I can come up with all his 'special' fabrics in such a short time! I think he may have to wait. :(
