What are your plans for Easter?

Many moons ago I lived with my husband and children and all my in-laws on a cattle ranch out in the western Colorado desert. My BIL and SIL were still kids and Easter was a big holiday for them all. No candy eggs, just colored hard boiled ones. No grass in the yard, the only water for growing grass was down in the pasture. So eggs were hidden in some real creative places. Now the kids liked egg hunts so much eggs were gathered and re hidden several times that day. As a consequencee not all the eggs were retrieved or edible by the end of the last hunt. One year there were 3 dozen eggs out in the yard, we had hens. In a month or so Grandpa was in town driving his ancient Cadillac Sedan when there was a gigantic backfire from his car. The man behind him at the light had some very rotten hard boiled eggs splattered all over his windshield. Seem the tail pipe had been a prime and over looked hiding spot for the hunt. Now Grandpa was a man of few words, mostly he said yup, nope and maybe. He was very mortified at his car's indiscretion. The other guy was irate and Grandpa was unusually verbal with things tending to-wards "%&(*&*(**(*^%*(^*^%^*^*&^ Easter !!!!!!!"
After that all tail pipes were off limits for hiding spaces.

Ordinarily, we go down to visit my daughter and her family in south Carolina, dye eggs, have dinner with them. This has been our custom for the past several years--pretty much since they moved down there. This year, I have a very dear friend visiting from Phoenix so they may try to come up and spend Easter with us. Either way, the menu is always pretty much the same. Like many of you, I begin my Easter Day with church and the rest of it seems to be spent around food--preparing it, eating it, cleaning up after it. Still, a lovely day as a rule.

Kellen49 that is so funny, memories are fun, we to have a very dysfunctional family (but who doesn't) but this year will be differant for us, my middle child who is our oldest son went to college when he was thirty, still their, graduates in May, will be an architect but was just excepted to the graduate program, when he finally finishes in two years, he will have two masters one in architecture and one in structual engineering. So proud of him, he's putting himself through. Anyway he met this very nice young lady in college and her family lives very near to us, and her family wants us all to come over for Easter, including MIL, my FIL's brother, his wife, and there grown son and two kids who are grown, there will be about forty for Easter and we are all bringing stuff. My younger son, his wife and two sons will be there, my DGS are 6mos and 2yrs. I have a DD but her husband and two kids will not be there because they are going to his family's side, his mom has Lou Guehrids. Anyway I'm very excited, because I hope this young lady will be my new DIL, she is so sweet and we all love her dearly. I hope my son stays with her, they have been together about 5 years and both attend the same college. Anyway Happy Easter to you all, no matter who your with or what you will be doing, I hope you have a Blessed Day. Thank you for listening, I hope it wasn't toooo long.

I am working. The patients at the hospital don't realize that it is a holiday. I will probably get taken out to dinner when I wake from my morning nap ( I work nights). Then I will probably get to the sewing room for the evening.

and I am truly thankful that hospital people do keep working. Otherwise we would all be in trouble. :) So keep up the good work :)
