We had 25 yrs before DH passed and I believe quilting saved his life on at least a FEW occassions-I don't argue- I just leave the room and do something constructive til things calm down to a small roar

Maybe it's because we realize that like sewing it takes a lot of patience to get it right.
LOL Been married 21+ years - but somedays it seems forever and yes there are times I would like to send him on a one way ticket to Siberera (sp?)

Married a long, long time and happily divorced for ten years. My choice after his delay, delay, delay. I saw him at a wedding last year - he is still nasty but not to me.
edited to add: He still doesn't know that I lost his paycheck one time.

not generally..especially the big name pro's....could name quite a few that have had their marriages end when they became so caught up in themselves and their careers that they forgot what being married was about...

I think quilters are more patient thus our marriages last because goodness know you have to have a lot of patients to make a marriage work. I have been widdowed 3 years but my husband was very supportive of my quilting even though he thought I spent to much money on fabric and gadgets. I am a real gadget person and will buy just about anything if I want it and can afford it.

I've been divorced 21 years now and am happy being on my own. As long as I can afford it...I do what I want..when I want without someone looking over my shoulder criticizing. If I want 18 sewing machines in my house ( BTW I really do  ) it's my choice. And since I've outlived two ex spouses, I'd say quilting has been a definite calming part of my life.
