I have Omnigrid rulers & I LOVE LOVE them. I love the yellow & black lines. They are easy (for me) to see on all fabric colors. I have a few other rulers that are not Omnigrid, but they are used for specific projects/patterns/techniques. If I could find other shapes available from Omnigrid, I would probably be an Omnigrid girl.

    Have a blessed labor day.

Me to! I do use these without a problem, though!

The Omnigrids are too "busy" for my tastes

They are very busy for me also and my eyes have trouble adjusting to the yellow. I only have one black lined Olfa with the slight frost, and I use it often. Have one creative grids and absolutely love it (2 1/2 by 6 1/2).

I bought an Omnigrid ruler and like others...lines too thick, hard to see due to green/yellow color As stated above, I use the dots and for me it works better, although, I won't buy anymore.

I have several types and I haven't had an issue with any of them. I like omni-grid but they are very pricey.

this is why i prefer the lazer-etched fluorescent rulers. they are so easy to see precisely with.
OK you've peaked my interest - what is a laser-etched ruler, or who makes them?
there are many fluorescent rulers out there [i just spent 20 minutes googling them] but my favorite is one i picked up at a quilt show sold by leo9textiles. i can't find a website for him. however i found a website that also sells this kind of ruler http://www.softexpressions.com/softw...reenFl.php#len
the lines are fine and there are not a lot of wide extra marks that get in the way. HTH

Hmmmmmm - OK! Whoever wants to sell their unwanted rulers would you please PM me? I hate paying the store price for these things (that's why I only have 2) and am looking for the ones that you use to square up blocks. Anyone have a couple that you might want to sell??? Like 12", 8", 6" and 4" ...................

It used to be a bit of a problem for me to tell where the lines were, then I grabbed one of their half-size (ruler width is not an even number. I used to use a 6" ruler, now I use the 8 1/2" one) if that makes sense. With the "half" ruler, the thin line is the one that lines up with the edge of the fabric instead of the thicker yellow or green. I do have a circle template that almost glows it is so fluorescent green --- I can see the marking perfectly on that one no matter the color of the fabric.

I have mono vision contacts, and don't wear them when sewing anymore. I badly sewed my finger a month ago, my eye doc (friend), told me to wear my regular glasses when sewing, as the single contact gives a sight distortion in lines. I can now line up my rulers when I wear my old glasses. I didn't want to progress from sewing my finger to cutting it off with the rotary cutter. A lesson learned, my finger is still sore from the chipped bone, and needle fragments.
