I have an ancient Underwood typewriter. The cents and @ are on the same key. It's on the home row to the right of the : ; key.

My brand ...nada. I thought I could finally type the sign instead of saying it. Bummer. Fiddyninecens doesn't work either.

There a cent symbol in the Character Map of MS Word under the "symbol" font.

On a Mac you can hold down the "alt" (option) key, and the 4 key at the same time, and get the cent mark. ¢¢¢¢¢¢¢
