I remember the green dishes in Mother's Oats and later they put small kitchen gadgets, like slotted spoons and spatulas.

Walk down memory lane big time ! I remember green stamps and it was my job to get them in the books, which I thought was fun. Too, I would look through the catalogs for suggestions on what we could get, what fun !

I remember we had jelly glasses.....jogged my memory about the old aluminum cups, augghhh....don't remember them coming with cottage cheese, but we had the cups.

What about the old Tupperware cups that came with lids ? Can still remember the feel of the plastic cups on my lips....yuk !

What is funny to me is that what our children are going to remember in 40 years ???

My oldest likes to remind her children that when she was growing up we didn't have sweet tea in the house ! Which I think is funny; I'm 64 and still don't drink sweet tea, even though I've been born and raised in the south !

I love my Rainbow. I traded my MIL's Kirby for it in the 60's. My son had alergies. I am on my second one now. Can't beat the suction or freshness. Rex-Air was the forerunner, and I think the first one to use water.

They certainly used different kinds of marketing skills back then. It was fun for the family & the housewifes.

I remember all the free dishes you got with tea, oatmeal, washing powder, etc. My first set of china was bought along with a set of triple ply stainless pots and pans (which I still use), stainless flatware and crystal. The dishes are white with a plaitnum row of tiny roses around the edges and the crystal has a thin band of plaitnum around the rim. This was in 1965. They have been used many, many times and still look like new.

There also was dish towels in boxes of laundry soap, I don't remember the brand but it was always exciting as a child to find the towel in the soap box. I think my mother hated it because there was more soap on me then in the box lol
