    What I would do is just outline the pattern that is already of the material.

    What a gorgeous quilt! I love the modern fabric with traditional blocks. There are several good suggestions here, I can't wait to see which way you take this. Please show us when you're finished!

    Well, the good thing about free motion, is that you DON'T have to turn it and turn it. Just move it the direction you need it to go. You could do a big flower in the big blocks and a soft line diagonally though the other blocks, which could also be free motion. Make it purposely not straight, and then it looks like a design decision rather than a straight line gone off. Love the quilt! Good luck!
