Then I took an xtro knife and cut slits by the lines in the web, laid it on my quilt and marked thru the slits with a frixon pen. I stitched on the lines and ironed the lines away. So I cheated!

My patterns for the cats, crows and rat also came from the Dollar Tree. I think they are black cutouts to put in your windows during Halloween, but they were great patterns made from card stock. The world is full of templates!

All the applique is done with a blanket stitch. I'm really hooked on appliqueing. You want something on your quilt, you cut it out and poof it is on your quilt. Love it!
Thanks for posting your tips. I never even thought of using cutouts, window clings, etc for applique patterns. You have opened my eyes to new opportunities! I love applique as well, it's one of my favorite things to do!

    Again - great work!!

I like it a lot. Your choice of fabric is very nice for this pattern. I sure don't see a problem with the quilting....love it.

I love it! Especially the rat!! (And the very realistic tarantula sitting on it is an excellent touch. You did put that there...right?
