I have made two like that, the first one was white with colored doiles , and the second one was red material with white doilies appliqued on it, loved both <Also made two old fashion Hanky quilts,, Ist o ne on a blue cloud background with folded hankies like butterflies, and the second one on white Eyelet with the hankies fitted in place and sewing on like in the ditch plus additional sewing in some centers.. love them all. People alway ask for one , but i tell them to ask my daughter as they are hers when I am gone,,,Hehe Cmaras1234

I wish I had thought of this. I too have a plastic container full of crocheted items (doilies and shelf edgings?) from my great-grandmother and DH great aunt. This would be a great way to get them out in the viewing of me and family.

Maybe this has been discussed before, but I never saw it. Has anyone else ever done this? With the weight of the doilies, you probably wouldn't need a batting at all, or if you use batting, a very light one out of flannel or some such. Sound like a good idea?
Been done!

thank you, thank you. I've got probably 30 or more dresser scarves to do something with. Never thought of this.

AGAIN, thanks!

That's a good idea for several reasons.

Just like many of you I have family doilies in a box that I would love to use. On e upon a time I framed some but still have plenty! What suggestions does someone have for attaching the doilies? How would you wash a quilt with doilies incorporated into it?
