    To piece it without seams in the blocks would be possible, there would be a lot of partial seams, but none of them would be Y seams. You could assemble the blocks in sets of two and then put the entire top together.

    It looks like a lot of work, but very pretty. I can't see any easy way to make that.

    I agree with you that I don't think it's a nine patch block. But if I had some some special fabric I'd like to show case I think this would be great quilt, and I love the hand quilting.

    I was just looking at newsletter from Craftsy and one of the classes "Big Techniques from Small Scraps" is on sale for 50 percent off. One of the quilts shown in the intro is this quilt. It's called "Charm Pack Step Down".

    It does not cost anything to go look at the intro video.
