You sew five 2.5 strips together, then cut them into 10.5" squares. Put one square on top of the other, with the stripes going opposite ways (top square stripes go vertical, bottom square stripes go horizontal) and sew a quarter inch seam all around the perimeter. Then you cut the square in quarters diagonally, like a big X. This will give you 4 blocks, which you then play with on your design wall.
Super easy and fun. I'm making one right now where I alternated light and dark fabrics.

That pattern is Hidden wells, I believe it is called.I am making a large quilt for my GD with it. You sew strips together measure width and cut a square that size then cut four of them diagonal X and label A, B, C, D. Then sew triangle A to B. C to D. It makes a wonder easy block. Google Hidden well quilt blocks and I think you will find lots of examples. Love those bright beautiful colors!!

I started with 3 jelly rolls; 2 colored and 1 neutral. I want it to be king sized, it will end up about 95 x 108. Blocks are 13" finished. I did end up supplementing the jelly rolls by buying about 4 different neutral skinny quarters, and I pulled some colored batiks from my stash and added those also. But that's the great thing about scrappy quilts - you can add different fabrics and no one will be able to tell.

I have made many quilts that use a similar pattern to that. it is called hidden wells and the msq has a tute on one similar that was done by the guys quilt shop guys. it was a fun and easy thing to do I plan on making one like the one peckish is making.
