    Great beginner project. Bet she has caught the "bug" now that she saw how easy they were and what a great addition they made to her table. Great teacher!

    Love red and black! Those are very pretty...What is they say about "teach a man to fish"? Great that you shared you talents with her...now you get a little sharing in everything she makes because of it...

    I think your friend will begin to sew more now that you taught her how. What a terrific set of placemats. I am sure she will never forget that girl talk and sew-in.

    I just saw that fabric on the Carolina Cotton Company's special of the day. It's Timeless Treasure on sale for $6.05 a yard.

    I think the placemats are wonderful!
