Love your pretty blocks, Givio. How big are these finishing out?

I will be late on getting my Monette done, because my dad is not doing well in the nursing home. He is getting weaker. I will be seeing him tomorrow. Me and my sisters have been in contact with each other about dad.

sewbizgirl, they are 6" finished blocks, they should measure 6 1/2" square to the raw edge.
JuneBillie, Prayers that your father is peaceful.

Thanks everyone. That means a lot.

QuiltingNinaSue I have been viewing your illustration on avoiding the y-seams for Mother. Thank you for showing these.

JuneBilly, peace with your Dad's needs; we work as best we can and feel at peace with that Good Luck with the block "Mother' as she gave me a lot of trouble at first. I had to sleep on it and re-visualize her this morning, I hope the illustrations aid to have less trouble with her than what I had. Using the solid colors around the floral, makes the mistakes stand out less....which is not all bad!

I seen my dad today. He is weak, and the whole time I was there he mostly had his eyes shut. He could hear me, but too weak to interact with me much. I just held his hand, talked to him and gave him a shoulder and foot massage. He seemed to like that. His favorite food is Kentucky Fried Chicken. No matter what else you could offer him, he would prefer that. lol.. I took him some and his favorite slaw, but he wouldn't touch any of it.

I am tired tonight, so hope to do some work on my Monette tomorrow.

Oh dear, Susan. I'm sure it breaks your heart to see your Dad unresponsive. I know it was a comfort to him to have you there and massages are a true gift of love! The human touch is healing to both body and emotions. I'm glad you were able to visit with him.
