Gosh, I sure hope I'm not giving people ideas.

I have a feeling we will never know...... 1 1/8 inch? why not just 1 inch or 1 1/4 inch. With batting it would not make a bit of difference.

I would use an accuquilt die strip cutter.

Sorry the OP didn't reply... but I "think" that he/she was going to try making the Jelly Roll Rug that is out there right now. It calls for approx. 40 @ 2 ½ " strips.... and if you fold them WS together... and place a 1 1/8" strip of batting into them..... the pattern (which I don't have) probably tells you how to stitch them and then roll them into a big ball and then start stitching them together..... I have been searching this out recently and found a few posts.... I am not interested in making a rug myself... but it would be fun to actually find out how close I am in my guesses.

pipe insulation is cut narrow but i think it is fiberglass and comes with a heat tape. the company may be able to tell you who might cut it for you.

Best guess yet, I don't think the person is coming back to tell us.

    A padded mummy, perhaps?

I'm finding it kind of rude to ask for information but not give much in return. Especially with such a strange request.
