That’s a cute way to hide the middles. It looks very cheery.

It’s very pretty and I like the buttons but I think I would go with yo-yos instead.

Keep the buttons! If it's lap quilt size, then it's not really for snuggling (IMHO) and will be just fine.

I love the buttons, it works to hold crazy quilts together too and you can use themed or special buttons. Also saw a string quilt once, denim and striped work shirts and things like that held together with buttons, it was very masculine.

Quilt is going to be lumpy if you are on top of it, easy solution because quilt is supposed to be on top of you!

I wouldn't use buttons on a quilt that was going to get a lot of handling, but for a wall hanging, definitely yes. Your quilt is cute as a...

If you want to keep the quilt comfortable or if for a child, what about fusing fabric circles instead?
Also do you machine stitch or hand stitch those buttons on?

That turned out great. Just don't let babies or kitties lay on it, they both like to suck on the buttons.

i cut the square at 9.5 inches and according to the tutorial I am supposed to iron down 1/4 inch all the way around so there is no "fraying" at the edge. Then you iron it into a small square, and then iron into another smaller square.

I forgot to iron down the 1/4 inch seam ... so in the middle, you can see little bits of fraying ... it's annoying LOL and drives me bonkers .

I donate all of my quilts that I make, and this one is quite small ... it could even be a centerpiece for a table ... I just needed to find something to hide my messy middles.

I could do applique but I'm already working on another applique project with lots of little circles, and the buttons look fun!

    Thanks for all the comments!
