1994 Mazda Protege, manual transmission. My first car was a 1990 Hyundai Sonata, but it was 10 years old when I got it.

I learned to drive in an International Harvester 2 1/2 ton dump bed truck. 3rd gear was far wnough away I had to slide over to get in gear. My 2st car was a brand new 1972 Vega (baby blue) I got it about 2 months before I got my license.

Wow I know some of you have to be as old as I am. I learned to drive in a 1948 Plymouth, which was younger than I am. Stick shift. My Dad had me practice parking between saw horses in front of the house. No license until I could parallel park!

A red 1965 Volkswagen bug, stick shift. I got to take my driver's test in it The deputy flipped a quarter if I passed or not. It was April Fools Day. I couldn't go on my birthday as the weather and roads were too bad.

I think it was a 1961 or 1962 Dodge Lancer. I bought it myself for $300. It was a cute little car and I was sad when someone failed to yield and T-Boned it to death. :-(

A 1976 Caprice Classic, which my parents still have and expect me to drive when I'm home for the summer...

You fill the oil and check the gas!

When I was 10, my brother started having football practice after school, so Daddy took me out to help him feed. It was a late 50's Chevy stick shift. I remember he told me not to pop the clutch, but forgot to explain what that meant. So, I of course, did just that and threw him out of the back of the truck holding a 50 lb. bag of feed. I jumped out and ran for the house. He hauled me back and told me to get in there and drive. But he did explain about popping the clutch first. Daddy and I spent some good time together feeding and talking.

My daughter learned how to drive on a John Deere 1010 tractor! She was raking hay at 12.
