That is just beautiful. I love all the secondary designs it creates. Great job and thanks for sharing.

Thank you all again for the nice comments!

"Butterfly wing," the red for the inner border, and the white for the secondary border are leftover from the main field of the quilt, and they are both fairly busy. The blue outside border will be similar to others in the quilt, too.

"The Old One," I used EQ5 to make the grid and play with the color layout. I think I tried about a half dozen layouts, and then tried different border colors on my favorite layout.

"Frogella," I got your PM....I didn't use a pattern, other than the EQ5 layout. I made my own template [using AutoCAD software] for speed piecing, although I miscalculated the size, and the finished blocks are smaller than I planned. I imagine you can find kaleidoscope patterns any number of places, as it is a traditional block. I have also seen a kaleidoscope ruler, but I don't recall who introduced it, or how it works.

I have to get dressed for work now....have a nice day, all!

Your eye stays so busy in the moving designs that any imperfections are invisible. I am not the Quilt Police, anyhow, but I didn't see anything but beauty!
