Please ask for more information. I have looked up Bargello patterns before and I remember reading somewhere that an odd number of fabrics is preferable as an even number will result in 2 of the same fabrics meeting in the middle. Please, other QB members correct me if I am wrong. Best of luck with the selection and I am looking forward to seeing your finished product! :-D
Thank you. I will have to double check with the instructor. Her class instruction sheet said to get 1/2 yards of 12 different fabrics. This will be my first bargello. Maybe the heart bargello requires 12???

the 4th from right might look better if you flip from the white to the right side over.

In pic #2, I would swap out fab #3 and fab #9 and see how that works.

i think the one with the tiny pink and green flowers looks wrong for the more modern fabrics. i would eliminate that one, shift everything on the left side over, and add back in the very dark one at the left end.

ask 100 quilters, get 100 answers.

I agree with Candace on that one. I did a purple and pink bargello with white in it (against the advice of the board) and really think the white was too much. The wine wasn't that great either now that I look at it again. I'll post a picture of it so you can judge for yourself.
i think it was because the white was in between two very dark fabrics. if the color change had been more gradual you might have liked it better.

Maybe that is what bothered me about that little lavender flower fabric!! Everything else was modern looking whereas that was more of a traditional fabric. hmmmmmmm. Thank you. Will play around with shifting fabrics again. I do have others that I can replace that little flower with.
