First thing hubby did, after he picked me up, was bring the blue ice. He will be changing it for a frozen one before he goes to work. Already maxed out on my daily ibuprofen, but surprisingly I don’t feel bad, yet.

I have this one next to me if I need entertainment in the night. I needed a test block and decided to do it on my fabric.

Ouch, GramE! I was just reading something online about making a home made ice pack with 1 part rubbing alcohol to 3 parts water in a gallon ziplock bag. Keep in the freezer. Supposed to get slushy but not freeze completely so it can be draped over knees or elbows. I'm hoping your knee is normal size this morning and feeling better. Glad the fabric got to you okay.

Poor GramE. Take it easy. You have plenty of time for the blocks. I love that block you are making out of your fabric. How are you going to square it off?

Well, that is the reason for the test. I might just put 4 triangles on the corners. But I might appliqué it to a 12 1/2” square.

Somehow, I forgot to tell you thank you for the fabric. It’s swollen this morning, but nothing is painful. It’s that 24 hr mark that usually reveals the full “impact”! We’ll see what it looks like at 9:00pm tonight.

GramE I am also a big fan of ice packs. Definitely made a difference on the swelling the last 2 times I managed to hurt myself. Hoping you are not hurting to much this morning. Take it easy, enjoy your book and playing with your beautiful block

GramE, ouch! I'm sorry to hear of your fall. As has already been said, ice, ice, ice. Libster's right about that homemade icepack. Works like a charm. Enough alcohol it doesn't completely freeze so it molds nicely to knees. The Early Birds blocks aren't due until October. Please take it easy. And gorgeous sample block! Cannot wait to see it finished. Gentle hugs...

My 'go-to' is a big gel pack I keep in the freezer. It's made by BodyIce... bought it online.

Well, I iced it all night. Today i’ve Used my cane in the house but I went to my cataract follow up appointment without difficulty. I’m feeling blessed tonight because I wouldn’t have expected to feel this good right now. Hallelujah! I even made dinner.

I messed the border up on mjp’s block, gonna have to do it over. I shouldn’t sew when i’m Anxious. The 10” center block that I hand sewed is fine but me and that machine don’t always get along.
