I'm an earth tone person...beige, brown, green, rust, gold, burgandy/cranberry. I love wildlife fabric and the earth tones suit them the best. Generally when I walk into a fabric store I find one fabric that jumps right out at me..."take me home" then go from there. Good Luck and have fun shopping!

Congratulations on your daughter's journey to college. I hope she has a wonderful experience and make good grades (and good friends that will help her to reach her fullest potential). My favorite colors for quilts are pinks and greens. I like the shabby chic look of the softer pinks and greens. All of my rooms are painted white or off white so that I can change the colors of my decorating if I want to.

For me this is not a hard decision as I l-o-v-e anything in the rose/moss green combo with a touch of gold or chocolate brown tossed in. Warm, restful, loving ..........

What are her favorite colors? What will her school colors be? That's where I'd start, have fun.

I made a quilt for the spare bedroom in our Florida condo in royal blue, lime, aqua, light blue batiks and it really brightens up the room.

Why not a scrappy in all colors. I just finished one called Queens Jewels frm Quick Quilts From Your Scrap Bag. It's all different colored scraps and it has two black borders. I made one for me and my daughter saw it and said my granddaughtr would love it. I sat right down and made another one for her high school graduation in June. I had it quilted in circles. It's really bright and pretty but a fun quilt.

Take a hint by her choice in clothing and accessories. I made a quilted laptop carry in pinks and browns and polka dots. It was hard for me to work on because it definitely would not have been my color choice but she absolutely loves it and I guess that's what counts.
